Introduction

The first thing I will write about in this blog is totally going to be about me. Hi I'm Austin Rose and I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. I was born to my two parents Dan and Deborah Rose, and I also have 3 sisters: Cortney, Melissa, and Kim. Family is very important to me, because without the love and support of your family life is a very hard thing to get through. They mean the world to me and without them I don't know where I would be today. Also another thing that is very important to me in football. I love football and I've been playing it since 2nd grade. I now play for the University of Nebraska, so obviously its still a huge factor in my life. football has taught me many things in life, but the main 2 things I can transfer over to every day life is hard work and accountability. Hard work will always come into play no matter what you are doing in your life that you want to be the best you can be at. Accountability is another huge thing in your everyday life because if someone can't depend on you then you can't be trusted and trust is huge in my eyes. Other activities I enjoy are hanging out with my friends, playing video games, and playing basketball. Next I will talk about myself as a writer. I began writing as soon as a started a school program which was kindergarten and I have been writing ever since. First I learned how to spell my name because my sister taught me it before I was actually in school. I have done all types of writings from poems to essays I have pretty much done every writing you can think of. I was in an advanced placement English class in high school, so you can imagine how much writing we had to do in there. I think writing is very important because you can get your thoughts out on a piece of paper and just let your mind go where you want it to go. Obviously your writings are important to you because you took the time to write and put your thoughts on paper. The way I approach my writings now is a little different then how I used to go about my writings. When I was younger my imagination would run wild and I could write forever and never run out of ideas, but now it's a little harder to get my imagination going so I have to brainstorm ideas which takes more time. I am a writer who tries very hard to have a good imagination but sometimes my mind thinks faster than I'm writing and I will lose my place very easily and sometimes that makes it hard to come up with good stories. Also I'm terrible at explaining things which also makes it tough to write sometimes.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this! I love the idea of your sister teaching you to write your name--what a cool literacy memory! I think it's interesting that you feel like you have to work harder now to be creative than when you were younger. I feel that way too. It seems like formal schooling somehow sucks some that great creativity out of us. On the other hand, your concern with getting stuck in writing fluidly, I think is also a sign that you are trying to write, think, and explain more complex and important ideas.
