Critical Question

As I was typing this post I was laying in my bed and I was trying to hard to sit here and think about a really good critical question. There were 8 questions you wanted us to answer to help us think or a critical question better and in this part of the post I will talk about and try to answer those 8 questions. The first answer you wanted us to answer was what catches our eye around the room and why. Since I was sitting in my room it was easy to find things that caught my eye in my room, but I’ll just name the biggest thing that stood out to me. The first thing that stood out to me was all of my trophies on my dresser. I have a ton of trophies and they mean a great deal to me because they show I’m a hard worker and dedicated to what I do. The next question we were asked to answer was what did we think as we showered last. My answer to this question is always a similar answer no matter what’s going on in my life and the answer is whatever song is stuck in my head. I like to sing or rap when I’m in the shower and I’m not sure why because many of my family members have told me I was a terrible singer, but I think I’m like a young Michael Jackson with my vocals. The third question we were asked to deliberate on is what did I think about when I fell asleep last night. Usually I can remember what I was thinking about before I fell asleep and it usually has something to do with football, but last night I was so tired I couldn’t tell you what I did 30 minutes before I went to sleep. It was all a blur after about 10:30, but I did have a quality sleep! The next question was about my favorite course in high school/college, and for this question I will talk about my favorite high school course which was team sports. Team sports was a PE type class where you play all types of sports that involve teams. I liked this course because I loved to compete and have fun with my friends. The fifth question we had to answer was what is the most recent argument you had with your friends or your family. The most recent argument I had was with my friends and it was about if Lebron is better than Kobe. Of course this question always comes with a heated argument when it comes to basketball fans. My stance on this question is that Lebron is better than Kobe and I would go into more detail on this question but that would definitely take up way more than 600 words and I need to answer 3 more questions. All I have to say about this is Lebron makes players around him better which in turn shows how good of a player he is. The next question is what feelings we are feeling right now, and as of now I am pretty happy because I’m with my girl friend as I type this paper. My girlfriend is one of my best friends so being in her present always tends to make me happy. My home community is very important to me because I have lived here for over 13 years so that’s a big chunk of my life in the same house. I live right next to the elementary I went to, so that always brings back good memories that I had in there.

When I was thinking about my critical question many things popped into my mind but I wanted to think about something that was really a relevant question to me. The things I wanted to think about was what I liked/loved the most. The critical question I came up with is: What is the impact of violent video games on our youth? I thought this was a great critical question because you can branch off of the question and make many other questions out of this. I chose this question because video games are something I enjoy a lot and I always here on the news or read in a newspaper about a child going on a shooting spree in a school or something and a lot of the time the media contributes this to violent video games, and I want to find out how true this statement could be. My question is relevant to me because I played violent video games as a child and I want to know what the experts think and how others feel about the affects. Also because I hate seeing a tragedy like a school shooting on the news, so if there is a way to prevent these things from happening I would be very happy to know. Another point why its relevant to me is because one day I will have children and I will have to make the decision on whether I should let my child play these games or not. The reason that this question is relevant to my community is really the same reason why its relevant to me, and that s because we have all seen a tragedy happen like this on the news or something and seeing this should make all people feel a little sad inside. I’m also sure many people have played these games in there child hood, so I want to see if these games ever made them violent or aggressive. I think my question will fit great with the 3 projects we have in class because the first project is about our personal experiences with our question and that will be easy for me because I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember. For the second project I think I can look at youth that play violent video games and also look at the group of individuals that did some of the worst mass shootings in US  history. And for the 3rd project it will be a little tougher and I will have to think about this one  little more, so I cant really elaborate on this question at this time. I don’t have many questions or concerns about this, but is my question a good enough question to ask regarding a critical question?
